Our business

Trading, logistics and operations

Montage Commodities is a trading house and logistics specialist. We combine active trading, efficient freight and disciplined risk management into one service, from contract to delivery.

One counterparty

The same team runs operations and documentation through to discharge, which keeps one counterparty responsible for the goods and for the means of carrying them.

Logistics

Physical trade is decided in the logistics chain.

Chartering, freight, storage and terminal access, and inland delivery, arranged around every cargo we trade.

We build the freight, the storage and the delivery plan into each transaction rather than arranging them afterwards, so that a cargo arrives where the counterparty needs it, in the window they planned for.

Capabilities

What we arrange.

Chartering and freight

We charter tonnage and arrange freight around each cargo, matching vessel to volume, route and timing across dry bulk and liquid trades. Freight is priced into the transaction from the start, because on many flows the routing decision moves the economics more than the purchase price does.

Storage and terminal access

Storage and terminal access are arranged through established partners in the ports we work in. Montage does not own storage: we contract for the capacity a transaction needs, where and when it needs it, which keeps the structure flexible and the cost attached to the cargo.

Inland delivery and distribution

Discharge is rarely the end of the journey. We arrange onward movement by road, rail or barge to the plant, warehouse or distributor, coordinating with local partners so that a delivered cargo reaches the point where it is actually used.

Operations and documentation

Our operations run each shipment from contract to discharge: nominations, laytime and demurrage, independent inspection, shipping documents and payment presentation, with sanctions and vessel screening applied before a fixture is confirmed.

Questions we are asked

Straight answers.

Does Montage arrange the freight for its cargoes?

Yes. The desk charters tonnage and arranges freight around each cargo, matching vessel to volume, route and timing across dry bulk and liquid trades.

Where is cargo stored?

Storage and terminal access are arranged through established partners in the ports Montage works in. Montage does not own storage or terminals; capacity is contracted for the transaction that needs it.

Can Montage deliver beyond the port?

Yes. Onward movement by road, rail or barge to the plant, warehouse or distributor is arranged with local partners, so a delivered cargo reaches the point where it is used.
